Anyone Use Lucas Additive...?

Does anyone use Lucas oil additives? I must admit I have used them before, but take a look at this website and see what you think.

WOW....makes ya wonder. I drive a semi for a living and a lot of owner operators swear by the stuff. But I don't know now....I don't use anything like that in mine cause I'm a company driver

Re: Anyone Use Lucas Additive...?

Sorry Folks, I see 1 flaw in their test. They added the additve to the oil without draining any oil out. This is like overfilling the oil, and could have adverse effects.

I've never tried any Lucas product, but would like to see the same test done properly

that web sight was a huge discussion in my automotive class, and i have to agree with obp the test is inconclusive because althoug he follows the bottles directions, on that scaled down model that way to much oil

Re: Anyone Use Lucas Additive...?

guys, way too much oil in there...

I think you are seriously nitpicking. The difference would not have changed things significantly.

There has been numerous reports of this happeneing and is the main reason I will never use it in my engine at all.

So many better oil additives.

SLOB is one.

Some additives are good but they are not a cure all or instant fix.
A engine or transmission that is good doe not need additives just good clean fresh oil at regular changes.
Most good modern oil or transmission fluid already has all of the additives it needs in it.
Adding more may upset the chemical balance and do more harm than good.
Good clean oil is the best additive.
I has used the lucas transmission on a transmission on it last leg and it helped to run another year.
I have not used it but Some mechanics use the lucas engine additive for lifter noise and have had good luk on that end.
