Re: Now Im confused..97 Lumi 3.1 A/C probs...
You can try getting an initial chrg in by holding the can upside down to get the compressor started, the right way is to pull the system down, then the first can will go right in. Don't forget an oil charge as prescribed. All this assumes everything you have done is correct and your present procedure is correct.

Re: Now Im confused..97 Lumi 3.1 A/C probs...
Tried that already maxwedge... the second I try putting any refrig onboard upright or upside down the pressure shoots WAY UP...100+ psi... its like there is no power getting to the compressor clutch... thats what I want to know,... how to test the compressor to be sure its even working... and Im going out right now in (93 degree heat LMAO) to ck the relays and wiring... atleast no wrenching so to speak... hoping its the compressor relay but I doubt it.... and lastly am I correct... there has to be some refrig. on board to get the clutch spinning or should it come on when I set the controls to ANY A/C setting??? .... For the sake of Mankind any clues would be Greatly Appreciated... I should be able to do this myself... Damn shops will hose me for sure....... Again thnx In Advance to all that reply!!!!

Could the sensor in the A/C line be bad? The sensor that tells all the systems you have refrigerant and pressure so the compressor and the fan will engage.

If the low side pressure is too high, then it's possible the evaporator core is plugged.
