not enough power

hello there,just bought pug 106gti ,got a little problem, is it seems like I`m driving a car with only 4 gears not 5,it takes off fine of 1st 2nd feels fine too,in 3th its starts to have little bit more revs for that gear,in fourt gear in my old pud quicksilver I would be still in 3 and when I get to 5th I can manage to get to about 90 miles with my foor really down and thats it,It starts fine and iddles ok after starting.Any ideas whats the problem?Many thanks for any help
