How do you replace a fuel injector on 02 chevy trailbrazer Ls and where is it?

From the looks of it, the intake manifold has to be pulled to access the fuel rail. Check pages 17-19 here: http://media.gm.com/division/powertr.../4200_Tech.pdf How do you know you have a bad injector? I've not heard of fuel injector problems with the 4.2L
