upgrades for 67 lemans

Im about to start a resto on my 67 lemans. Id like to convert the trans to an overdrive, or possibly convert it to a manual, so Im wondering which one is best for a high h.p. application. Im going to run a 455 with a power adder, either a turbo or supercharger. So ive heard that the 700r4 doesnt handle big power too well, and Ive also heard of a 4L80E swap( I think from Chevy trucks and whatnot). Im not 100% on an automatic however, so if anyone knows of a current six speed manual swap, let me know. Also the suspension is going to be upgraded front to back, so any good advice on kits would be appreciated.

I really don't have much to offer in the form of advice, but I would like to keep up with your progress on this project, I just inherited a 66 lemans and am hoping to do something similar--perhaps we could trade ideas, etc.
