2001 AC clutch kicks out when in gear

I have a 2001 8.1L Suburban. The AC works fine, but when I put it in gear the clutch kicks out, hence, no AC when going down the highway. Any suggestions? Mechanics here can't figure it out. Thanks, Windy

That may be a good one for your GM dealer.
Have them run it for TSB recalls or PCM/VCM updates.
Most of it is computer controlled so you will need someone with a good engine /body computer scanner to check and see what is going on.
Also a good air cond forum link.

Good luck MT
