92 Laser with Trany problems?

I just bought a 1992 Laser off my buddy and he told me that the synconizers are bad? I proly spelled that wrong mybad. The car is a 5psd and it grinds in
2nd gear only idk wuts wrong with it. I searched but i couldnt find ne thing similar can ne one help? Thanks alot

It's mostly referred to as the syncro's. But it sounds like you need a tranny rebuild. It's not cheap but it's not expensive. Expect to spend a few hundred dollars. But it's not an uncommon thing. The best thing would be to buy a tranny that has been upgraded ex: shep racing tranny. or if you are looking to keep the car relatively stock just take the tranny to a shop and have them rebuild it.
