02 Rendezvous Fuel Gauge

I have just started experiencing a pecuiler problem with my Rendezvous. The Fuel Gauge will suddenly go to Empty, and in the Info Center "---" is displayed as mileage to empty. I have then turned off the vehicle, and restarted, and will read somewhere close to what is should be, then start to creep up to full, all the while the Info center miles number does the same, creeps up.

Sometimes it will stay at full, then after driving a few minutes, goes to empty.

Other times creeps to full, stays there.

I am thinking eithe rthe fuel sending unit, or the Body Control Module...what do you guys think?

Seems to be the fuel level sensor (common TB on Gm's
Sensor is attach to the fuel pump in gaz tank
It's a (chinese) rheostat type and upper reading bars are worn out.
Tuff to get there without braking fuel lines quick-connect while gaz tank removal.
