problem with fuses or relays

i changed my fuel pump an tired to start my truck nothing squitched the fuses or relays in the glovebox an it started but they get really hot melted them any reason wwhy? 95 chevy blazer also vibrates some when u start it up an let it run. thanks kristin

What amprage is the fuse? I would hope that it should blow before anything gets that hot.

If you have a resistive (read poor) connection then it is likely to get hot. Sounds like you might have a bad connection in your fuse box or a bad relay. Maybe that was the original problem with the pump. Maybe the old pump was good but there was a poor electrical connection to it.

If you have a bad connection then you will be able to measure a volt drop across that part.

Good idea to also trace all your grounds for the fuelpump as well as check polarities and follow the harness all the way up with a multimeter and check your continuity....(have someone shake the harness while you are metering so that you can see if there are any breaks during movement)

thank u it starts up but afraid to drive it cause of that problem.Think i should take it to get fixed or somethig u can do on ur own?

Anthing is fixable with enough knowledge and time. Can you describe what part got hot? A picture would really help.
