car jerked during accel tranny issue? :(

i was leaving worktoday and i was pulling out to a major highway. my car hit high rpms i was doing 35 it was making a whole lot noise but going no where then it made a jerk like BOOM and it started acting normal. then i stoped at a light and it seemed to not wana go anywhere alot of noise from engine and slow accel but after that it was fine..... didnt do it again im lost could it of just missed somthing or am i looking at a costly repair btw the car doesnt even have 47000 miles on it yet and its a 93 olds 88

I assume that you have checked the fluid level and that is not the issue! This sounds like a valve sticking in the valve body or faulty shift solenoid. It could also be the vacuum modulator. Pull the vacuum line off the modulator and see if any transmission fluid drains out. Also check the vacuum hose to the manifold for leaks. You need to take the car soon, to a reputable transmission shop, that advertises "free diagnostics" and have the trans scanned and pressure tested. Do you have any codes or SES lights?
