Ride Control question

I've got the Ride Control system (where you can push the dash button to make it 'firm') and it won't activate. The light comes on for as long as the button is pushed but does not stay on, and nothing appears to change in the ride. I read in another forum where a few people had fried (literally!) switches. Mine looks fine physically, but I suppose it could be bad. Checked all the connectors at the shocks also.

The shocks themselves seem fine. The ride is a little firm, but supposedly that's normal on these. The usual "push down on a corner" test is ok. Anybody seen this happen where it was anything other than the switch?

Re: Ride Control question

I don't have the system; but it should be easy enough to pop off the dashboard bezel and remove the switch (Or module that is holding it) and test the leads with a multimeter.

If the switch only shows closed (current flows through it) when the button is pushed in; then it might be time to replace it. If the button works as it probably should (closed and open) then maybe it's something else.

Just a thought...
