National Quick Start Iceberg Alternator?

My 94 PA needs a new alternator after all. I searched the web and found the Iceberg alternators by NQS. They seem to be reasonably priced and the iceberg housing for improved cooling makes sense to me.
Any experiences, doubts, objections are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: National Quick Start Iceberg Alternator?

Hi Padriver,

i installed an Iceberg Alt.140A in my PA 93´in march 05.No problems since then.I shot 3 aftermarket generators in the last years because of the thermal problems..
My voltage now is strong and very stable,i can highly recommend this kind of alternator.Price is very reasonable..
Problems only occurs with the communication to Quick start - they do not respond to mails..i dont know why.I had to phone two times to the US in order to get an answer.
Hope this helps..Thomas /Germany

Re: National Quick Start Iceberg Alternator?

Thanks for your input ParkerD. As a matter of fact, I'm experiencing the same communication problems. I emailed several days ago and didn't get a response yet.
But it's good to hear that you're satisfied with the product and that they obviously ship overseas which is crucial because I'm from Switzerland. How much did you pay for shipping?

PS: Do I know you from Motor-Talk?

Re: National Quick Start Iceberg Alternator?

Hi Padriver,

they charged me for shipping only 13 US$ !!,but they made an mistake,i think the real cost to Germany is about 40-50 US$ with USPS.
Yes, i know Motor Talk,i am a member of this forum, and sometimes i give advice to other US car fans - especially for Park Avenue problems.
If there is no reply to your question, call Mr.Randy Dubois, thats the boss.phone # on the homepage.
The quality of the product is very fine but the communication is bad-hard to understand.

Good luck..Thomas
