No AC.

I tried turning on the AC recently and didn't work. I looked under the hood and noticed that it looked like it was leaking from the low pressure switch, I checked the pressure and there was just about none, Then I replaced the switch and it's o-ring. Now the problem is when I went to recharge it, the r-134 was not getting sucked in. If I hotwire the compressor, then it will work and suck in the froen. I have that climate control and it will not allow me to turn on the AC, the light just blinks and then goes off. I checked the fuses and they seem ok. I also put the old switch back on and it also didn't work. Anyone have any ideas why the climate control is not allowing me to turn the AC on?

Re: No AC.

I looked in the Haynes Repair book for a schematic of the wiring, but didn't have one available.

What year do you have?

Re: No AC.

98 4x4. It sounds like a wiring problem, but didn't mess with any of that stuff yet.

Re: No AC.

If you did the replacement and had an open system than you should have done a vaccum on the sytem to remove the moisture. The first bottle of 134a should have been sucked in quickly and may be enough to get your system to short cycle and suck more in. If not *AND I DON"T RECOMMEND THIS* place the bottle in a tub of warm water, the heat will cause the liquid to be come a gas and provide more pressure to overcome what is in the sytem already. This system charging should be done by a COMPETANT individual. Or jump out your low pressure switch. There was a thread about this about two weeks ago that gives more info.....
