Ford Taurus 96 - Anti Theft system keeps Beeping

I have a Ford Taurus-96 model and have been seeing problems with the anti theft system. When I locked the car and parked it, the anti theft system started beeping(the loud honk and light flashing) after about 10 mins. I went and unlocked it and then it stopped. It started again after 20 mins and went on forever. This happened for about 6 to 7 times a day and i ultimately had to unlock my doors to prevent this from happening. But i cant keep my car unlocked to prevent this.

Does anyone know why this might be happening? any solutions

Could be a couple of things. Possibly a faulty door pin switch. Even though all the doors are closed, a faulty switch could be "telling" the alarm to trigger. Could be the factory alarm module itself. I've seen a couple of those go bad. Without visually checking the car and hooking up a meter to it, it's going to be really hard to troubleshoot, though. But I'd at least start with the door pin switches.

The faulty door pin switches have been addressed numerous times on this forum. If you search the forum for "door switch" or variations, you will find many suggestions on how to remedy the issue. As InstallTech stated, start with the door switch. That will most likely fix your issue.

Many posters have had good luck with using penetrating oils to temporarily repair the door switchs. One of my hobbies is repairing consumer electronics. On several electronics repair forums, the issue of using WD-40 to "repair" switches, resistive volume controls, etc. has cropped up numerous times. The concensus is that is NOT a good electrical contact cleaner. In fact, it has been found to actually be corrosive to some switch contacts and resistive elements.

I've had VERY GOOD LUCK with Caig DeOxit which is available from better electronic supply stores. It's a bit pricey, but works very well. Other electronic part cleaners are available from some automotive repair stores and you can probably find tuner cleaner at Radio Shack. IMHO, that would be the better type of chemical to use.

Spray lube the door switch thru the slot in the driver's door by the catch. It gets gummed up easily, causing many problems from a dome lite malfunction to your problem.
I'm too lazy to spelll chock thiz so excuse me.
