Filter Removal

Hi,

I'm Just About To Remove And Replace The Horrible Plastic Airfilter Housing On My1973 1600 Superbeetle I Want To Fit A Standard Chrome Type Filter Housing But Don't Know Exactly What To Do With The Existing Vacuum And Airpipes.(no Rude Coments)
Any Ideas Please.
