Considering integra...

What would be your opinion on a 01 integra with 84k miles from NJ. Its 5 speed black, with black rims. Looks good condition.. how much would it be worth? nada rates it at 7-8,000....

Re: Considering integra...

I would say don't get it. I don't really like Integra's that much, they remind me too much of Honduhs.

Re: Considering integra...

They are not fast unless your turbo it IMO. My friends 2.4 z24 cavalier burnt a heavily modded gsr on a third gear pull. And of course I smoke him no problem. They are nice cars but, performance wise I think a turbo is deffinatly needed.

What are they putting down like 160 at the flywheel? No way in hell are they going to keep up with a GST.

I think Integra's are OK, but if you want some power, dont waste your time. Personally, if I had to get a Honda (besides the S2000, those make my pants dance) I would get the 2nd newest style Prelude. I wanted one of those before I wanted a DSM but that was like 4 years ago.

Re: Considering integra...

Preludes = :

The only Honda I'd think about getting is an S2000, other than that I'd rather bike everywhere.

Re: Considering integra...

If I had to get a honda I would get an RSX not for performance really but just because. I raced my boys RSX(full exhaust/intake) in my ol gst and smoked the shit out of it. I also raced it in my cobra and put bus lengths on it, but when I drove it I generally had a positive experience driving it.

Re: Considering integra...

It depends entirely on what you are looking for.

I would chose an Integra over a DSM as a reliable daily driver, if you werent too concerned about looks. Not only do they refuse to break down, they drive great too. I personally find most Hondas unexciting. I don't know how to describe what I mean by unexciting, but though there are other cars out there that could serve as excellent, drama-free daily drivers, an Integra would serve you well. I have a 3000GT SL as my daily driver, in addition to a 2001 i-4 Accord and a 2000 Civic DX, though I drive the GT around the most because it is sexy as hell, cheaper than any Integra out there, and the V-6 gives decent power. This is where many of you will give me a long list of turbo'd DSMs and 420a's that you know are good, reliable cars, but I want to stay the hell away from anything boosted and modded as an everyday commuter. It does not appeal to me to be a hater for a particular brand just because a few ricer punks driving Hondas set the stereotype. Hondas are great cars to drive, and you will not be dissapointed in the Integra. It may not be a firecracker on the track, but it has an excellent ride and great build quality. The deal on the Integra seems right on par with what you should expect. I would say go for it. Though posting your thoughts on buying a Honda/Integra in a DSM forum isnt exactly a good way to get honest opinions regarding the matter.

If you want a fast little car, we all know DSMs are the way to go. Though some cammed and turboed Integras and RSXs run pretty decent numbers, it is common knowledge that DSMs can be modded cheaper and give way more bang for the buck. In the end, it depends only on what you expect from you car. Base your purchase on why you want the vehicle. Not what others think you should want it for.

Re: Considering integra...

Personally, I'd ONLY go with a like 02-03 RSX-S, or an S2000 if I were to go the route of the Honduh.

Re: Considering integra...

I actually like hondas. Before I bought my car I test drove and drooled over a 99 4 door accord, heavily modded, sexy as hell, demo car for a local audio shop. I swear I was about to buy it, the only reason I didn't is because I found out who owned the car before this guy. I've actually been looking for a 4 door honda/acura for my daily driver. I want either a 93ish 4 door civic or a 95ish 4 door teggy.
