Camaro sitting for 6 months, bringing it out of the Garage, What should it do?
OK,
I left for school in Mexico for 6 months last Jannuary and now im returing home. Before i left i left my 2000 camaro,(about 65000 miles, v-6, I try to maintaine the car well and i dont drive it like im racing it everyday, only sometimes ), in the Garage in my parents house. I disconected the battery and put this stuff in the fuel for long periods of non activity. I put a few sheets over the car so the paint would not be exposed. The oil in the car is about 1500 miles old and i am planning on replacing that right away when i return. In the summers the garage gets kind of hot becasue the house is in phoenix AZ. The car is used for everything so i would like the fuel and performace to be maintained to the highest within reason. I asked my parents to drive it a couple times but im sure they did not so the car has just been sitting there for a long time and its the first time this has happened. Is this not good for the car and what should i look into getting anything repleased or checked? Thx everyone for reading this and replying, Mason. |

You need to make shure everything is lubed before you try to start it...
Also, add a few gallons of fresh gas to the tank to mix with the old gas. |

if its in need of a tune up... might as well give it one. and yeah, new gas and change oil.

Guys, it's only been 6 months, not 6 years
. The oil pressure switch, should not let the injectors kick until oil pressure is in acceptable range. It'll be fine. Me personally, I'd just give it a oil change and go. Last edited by wrightz28; 05-26-2006 at 11:40 AM. |
