I need help finding out how to replace the passenger side power mirror (not heated) on my 2001 Taurus. My daughter hit a mailbox and ripped it off. I would really like to try to fix it on my own if possible. I found the part on ebay and saved myself $100 already.

Re: 01 Taurus SE - how to replace side mirror
Remove the inner door panel and you will see the wiring connector and the mounting bolts to remove the mirror. Easily replaced.

Re: 01 Taurus SE - how to replace side mirror
I replaced the mirror on my 04 recentlt, it was pretty easy. One thing that helped me save money on mine was that the plastic part of the mirror that is painted comes apart from the mirror assembly realy easily, it is simply clicked on. If this part of your mirror is not damaged, you can simply swap this piece out with a mirror you buy from a salvage yard and you dont need to paint, just put the parts back together and your good to go.

Re: 01 Taurus SE - how to replace side mirror
If you want to save yourself some money, you can get the mirror from a junkyard and it will work as well. It may not match perfectly, but anything from a 96 up will bolt in.
