Air Bag Light Flashes. Clock spring problem.

I just bought a 94 Q45t with129,000 miles on it. Runs great. Only problem is that the Air Bag light flashes on and off. The dealer wants $100 to diagnois the problem. My local mechanic thinks it is probably the clock spring since the cruise control buttons on the stearing wheel do not work either. He has said clock springs do wear out and he has seen this same problem in other cars. Anybody with experience in this area?

Re: Air Bag Light Flashes. Clock spring problem.

Dearler wanted $105 to check airbag light. Said fog u. Bought the manual on eBay for $10. Reset light by turning on ignition and pressing the drivers side door light at least 5 times during the first 7 seconds of inserting the key and turning on the ignition (without starting the engine). I thought it was going to be the clock spring, but the light reset itself. COOL. Saved big bucks by doing this.
