Electric problem
hi ,i have a 96 sl2 and yesterday i was driving (acelrating) and my radio just stoped working it just shut off . so i went home and called the place where i got the radio from and they are going to send me another radio ( 2 year warrenty on mine) but that is not the problem the problem is that i took out my radio (pioneer 680) and put in my stock radio so i could have somthing to listen to and the dispaly on it doesn't work you can't change the radio station or anything and it worked perfectly when i got it replace with my pioneer. so i was thinking about maybe there is someing wrong electricly which is why i am here. so any suppostion to where there might be a problem? amd i noticed that my door chime thing that tells me if i left my lights on does not work now and when i have any lights on headlights or parking lights the light on my stock radio turns off ( the display one) and my rear defroster does not work

Re: Electric problem
the 5 amp CHIME fuse serves as a hot at all times B+ source for the radio, fine for the stock system, but undersized for many aftermarket radios. replace the fuse for now, if it continues to blow, you will need to route a new B+ to the radio.

Re: Electric problem
how much do u think a mechinc would charge to do it, the mechinc i use installs radios and things like that too as part of his shop so i am sure that he has done that before for other cars.
