Jetta taking longer to start

My 2000 Jetta, 1.8, is taking longer to start. It's cranking 6 or 7 times now before firing. It used to start quicker. It seems (the problem), to be getting worst. Any ideas?

Check your Battery. Sounds like it is dying.

Ok. You might have a starter going bad. The starter maybe drawing too many amps causing a slow start.
