Coffee Can Exhaust... TOO LOUD
I just recently bought a 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse and I'm in love with the car. It's that AWD 16V model or some shit, whatever. Anyhoo, it came with one of those LOUD ASS COFFEE CAN EXHAUST PIPES, (I bought the car used), and I was wondering, is there anyway I can get my car to be quiet? And how much would a quieter muffler cost me?

Well, I am sure that you could put an OEM muffler back on for about 70-100 bucks at the most. Or if you wanted a free flowing muffler you could get one from Magnaflow of Flowmaster that would give you a nice sound but not be very loud for about $150.

Find out how big the piping is before the muffler. Then go to advanced auto or pep boys or something and get a turbo muffler for 30 bucks with the same inlet size.

I would first try and find out what kind of exhaust you have. Several brands make silencers for their mufflers. Some online stores even sell generic silencers. For the price, a silencer will run you no more than what you will pay for a new muffler, plus you don't have to cut your old system to install it. It'll just slip right in the end of the tail pipe. So before you go out and buy a new muffler, I would check on this.
Peace
