replacing radiator

I have a 97 accord and the rad needs replacing along with the thermostat.
The one place I've been to said that they could get me a brand new Honda Rad for $210
After all the labour and other things done to the car he said it would cost around $600 to do the job. Is this too high?

All Canadian dollars btw.

Re: replacing radiator

well you could get a replacement Radiator from www.thepartsbin.com for around $125. Thermostat can be found really cheap too, and can easily be changed by yourself in your driveway in under 15 minutes.

I personally would do the radiator swap myself, but if you don't feel up to it, I'd at least search around for a cheaper mechanic. Dealerships and Honda certified mechanics will charge $70 an hour for labor. If you find a decent private mechanic, labor charges will be alot less. Call around in your area, and try and get a few different estimates.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
