Generation question

My friend is wondering if integras work in generations and what generation is his 94 integra. If they do work in generations what are the ranges.

the 1994 to 2001 models is the 3rd generation. the 1st gen was from 1987?? to 1989 and the 2nd gen was from 1990 to 1993. the 4th gen is the new rsx.
