97 Back Window Hinges just snapped

Has anyone had their window hinges just snap?.. No pressure on them; just a normal lift of the window?....... and so where besides spending $170 plus labor at a dealer would you get it fixed. The window is fine but the hinges are attached to it with the other pieces still on the truck.

I am not the only one this has happened to but Ford doesn't recognize it as something they should fix though if you research the internet, there are several other Fords that have had recalls and/or repairs due to faulty hinges in various places...

Re: 97 Back Window Hinges just snapped

I have a 98 with the same problem, but have not found a solution.. The dealership wanted to sell me the entire window motor and plastic hardware to solve the problem. I have tried salvagesyard and parts stores and still nothing.. Please let me know if you or anyone else could find some type of replacement.. Thanks

As far as I know, only Ford has replacement parts. The labor can be done yourself.
