Hey Guys got a question my 95 z trans slips it goes into every gear its an automatic and u will push the gas and it will take a sec to click in to drive then u get abotu 5 mph and it will slip then pick up again but in reverse i can hold down the brake and push the gas and spin the tires so im lost if anyone can help there are no leaks trans fluid is full we changed the filter and the old 1 was bad but we forced the new one in and we think that it is pushed against the bottom of the pan maybe not letting the fluid flow properly???

Re: 95z tranny probs
Well, if it was working fine before you changed the fluid and filter, then you must have messed something up while you were in there.
You may need to retrace your steps... |

Re: 95z tranny probs
The fluid was nasty and the filter was hit there are little under 100k miles and it was really abused...

Re: 95z tranny probs
Nasty as in brown and gritty? If so, she's probably had it. You could try some Lucas or other additives that claim to reduce slipping, Lucas does work on a mildly battered trans, just depends on how much friction materialis left. That's why they say if the filter has not been changed and the trans has over 80K miles on it, it shoul dactually be left alone as the friction material although no longer on the discs, remains but stays in the fluid.

Re: 95z tranny probs
I'd try 2 bottles of lucas and the rest a good quality ATF.
