Yay porting! Carbide burs, which one(s)?
So I need a carbide bur to start porting. The only question is, which style and diameter bur should I get? I found them here: http://www.carbidebur.com/bursmain.html for pretty cheap. I was thinking the "Tree Radius" probably in 1/2" diameter. What do you guys think?

 Build on hold until I get a good paying job, either in school or once I get out. At that time a full tear down and complete rebuild should be in order. The Purple People Eater will ride again... January 2011 can't come soon enough.

I don't really know the differences, but I know Dejon Powerhouse has one on their site - http://all.dejonpowerhouse.com/edit/A-04.htm

I would use either the tree radius or the flame.

I use a small tree (3/8ths?) for tight spaces, and a 1/2 by 1" or so rounded cylindrical for bulk work. Similar philosophy on the non-ferrous bits for the aluminum. The more types you can get the better, but these two will do any type of porting we do on these cars.

Ok, thanks guys. Man, these are expensive. I finally realized I have the "DSM Disease." I usually dont like spending money, now in the past week I just about have dropped more on this car than I have on fun stuff all last year. Ah well, only live once right? Hey, maybe I could make some money doing this... porting intake/exhaust manifolds, o2 sensor housings, turbos, and stuff. Thor's Porting Service, now open for business

That's how I paid for the cost of the equipment, did porting for a couple people. It's shitty work, don't do any more than you have to
