Here's my new setup. What do you think?

Here is the amp:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...lance&n=172282

Here is the sub. ( I bought 2 of them)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...lance&n=172282

Here is the box:
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Do you think the 2 subs could handle the amp being turned up to the max? The subs are each rated up to 500 watts RMS.

Re: Here's my new setup. What do you think?

The prices listed aren't what I payed. The total that I payed was $330 for everything. I'm just curious if I can turn the amp all the way up without blowing the subs. When I have it playing loud, I can rattle other people's car windows. I know because the cop told me so.

Re: Here's my new setup. What do you think?

what do you mean? can you turn your gains all the way up? no. can you properly set your gains to have clean output and not hurt thoes drivers? yes id you are carfl with the volume knob. know when you are getting too loud.

If you think shaking otherpeoples windows is good...try making oher people think they have a system in their vehicle...from 30 ft away.

Re: Here's my new setup. What do you think?

Not neccesarily the gain, just the volume on the amp. How about this: could I turn the volume on the amp ALL the way up, have the gain ALL the way down, and the bass boost all the way down too. Do you think that would blow the subs then? Thanks for the replies.

Re: Here's my new setup. What do you think?

What is this volume knob we speak of? I've never seen one on an amp.

The best thing is going to be adjusting them all equally. When you turn one up and the rest down, you have to imagine what that is doing to your audio signal. It's taking a small signal and trying to supersize it. You will lose a lot of detail aka sound quality. Which, would, feesibly, damage your sub woofers if you play it loud.

The gain knob is what you are calling the "volume" on the amp. It is Not a volume knob.

There's a lot of misinformation and confusion in that thread (at least the beginning, no way I'm sifting through all 35 pages), I'm afraid that reading it would do more harm than good for someone who doesn't know the background info.

Here's another one, but you don't have to shuffle through a bunch of crap to get to the heart of it. The DMM method that's discussed in that link is covered, but it's not the best way to set the gains, though it is the easiest and fastest.

I just wanted him to read the first post and the links in the first post in order for him to understand better about the gains a little.
