Hey i bough the DHP V1 and it said i need the performance shift knob so i can get the better rpms that the dhp comes with but where who i hook the knob up too ? please get back to me soon i need to ready for tonight at the track heh

if you want performance shift always on, you can just ground pin 21 on the clear connector to a ground in the engine compartment...

if you want to be able to turn it on/off, you need to run a wire from pin 21 on the clear connector to one side of a switch, and run a wire from the other side of the switch to a ground...

in addition, you can have the light on the DIC turn on when perf shift is on by putting a bulb in the slot (i took the one from the low washer fluid slot) for performance shift, and running a wire from the empty slot for performance shift on the DIC connector to the same side of the switch as the wire from pin 21...that way when you turn the switch on, perf shift turns on, and the light turns on...

aight...now for a pictorial....i made the pics slightly larger than the previous ones to show any detail that some may want to see...

NOTE: i did not use a DPST like vertigo suggests, since i already had a SPST switch mounted, i figured since i'm just creating a path to ground and it doesn't matter if they both hit the same pole, as long as the ground is good, i'll be alright... but a DPST is technically the correct one to use for best practices...


here is the cubby w/ switch minus the dash trim:






here is the cubby pulled loose to show the wires better and how they're run...red wire is from Pin 21, black goes to a ground under the dash, and the brown obviously is the one that runs up to the DIC






the DIC end, you can see the wire coming into the connector






here is the back of the DIC (printed circuit)...circled is the I to look for, arrow pointing to the terminal the wire needs to match up with, and the smiley as a thanks to citystarz for pointing out the most obvious bulb i could pilfer and probably won't need






lastly, showing how if you get the right sized wire, it will wedge into the connector and hold itself in...sweet

If you want the shift nob like in the 97-00 GTP's go to this link, a little expensive, but i think it comes with the wires
