motor swap 99 blazer

Please help the wrecking yard tells me a 2000 motor will not fit in a 99 blazer..
Has some one done this before and what parts do you need to swap..Thanks

Believe that 99-01 are the same (secondary air injection on them) plus same HP while 02up and 98earlier are not air inj so puzzles me on this one. Check gmpartsdirect or rockauto and look at the engine part #s for the years.

The engines from 96-2004 are all the same. I just did a swap for 2000 in my 98. You HAVE to change over all of the electronics and sensors otherwise there will be no end to the SES lights. If you are doing the swap yourself when you checkover the new engine see if you can move the flywheel back and forth through the engine. I didn't and had to pull the new engine. the crankshaft would move about 3/4 of an inch through the engine. you can probably imagine the sound that made. Best wishes

BTW GM shows these engines as having the same part number
