need info on 91 integra

my buddie's engine just died, he figures the timing belt snapped...i'm wondering what kind of engine this may be?..he told me it was the b18..how much would this cost for a new/used engine..any info would be great..thanx!!

well first off u have to find out if its a b18c or b18a the difference is the v tec if its v tec than its the c i'm not sure how much it should cost tho sorry best bet is to try a honda website i wouldn't go to an acura dealer they'll rip u off

wow ok nvm that post i didn't read i thought u were looking for a new timing belt a new engine depending again on the v tec will be about 2500 maybe 3 grand. i'd say go with a bigger engine try the h22a its a 2.2 liter so its a lil bigger it has v tec and about 200 horsepuppies and surprisingly its cheaper at only about 2 grand

yes it's v tec..and when a timing belt snaps while the engine was running basically sends valves through the pistons right?.., like it does internal damages, so the best bet is to replace the engine..so he said he found an engine for $600 at a scrapyard..but he mentioned that there was a 2.2L in it, is that what the B18C is?..thanx..

no the h22 is a 2.2 L with honda engines the numbers represent the size so a b18 would be a 1.8L

Hey if you're looking for a b18a1 (gs/ls non vtec) motor, i have one in my backyard, no problems with it. I'll sell it super cheap...couple hundred bucks. I bought the motor to go in my 91 teg to replace my siezed motor but then i enrolled in a class at the college i'm at and in it we bore out cylinders and all that good stuff...lemme know.
