Question 95 4L60E vs 96 4L60E ?

Could anyone please tell me if a 96 4L60E will work in a 95 Trans am. My car does have the trans perform button as well. I nee dto know asap so i can act on a deal. I know that the 96 will be an OBD II syetem but is it the same, i can't get a strait answer from anyone. Thanx alot for your time.

As long as both engines are LT1's then I see no problem why it couldn't. Just remember that if you're switching the tranny's out, say you're going from a manual to an automatic, then make sure you also swap out the ECU's. Yeah 95 was OBDII, the main difference was just the pin connector under the dash, the 95's came with the OBDI connector instead of the OBDII.

Count the pins on both connectors. If they are the same. It will work. It is probably a 13 pin considering it is a Performance button tranny and thats what most 96 and 97 are anyway.
