Re: SRS light
yeah, mine is on 2, but only because im too lazy to go to the dealer, the only way to get it turned out is by going to a dealer, or another source that has a computer tool that can turn it out. its on because your airbags had been deployed previously, and the computer will turn it out after running a scan to make sure all of your airbag sensors and parts are in good. at the honda dealer is only cost 36 dollars for them to attempt to turn it off, and it will be out, unless you need something fixed!

I accidentally pulled my srs fuse out and after i put it back the srs light came on. I looked around the forum and found some instructions somewhere. this is how I reset my srs light:There is a yellow plug under the dash that has two wires going into it. The plug is plugged into an empty socket by the fuse pannel. Take that plug out, place a jumper wire [i used a thin paperclip] into the two holes connecting the two. Turn the ignition key on (lights on, do not start). The SRS light will go off, within 4 seconds, unplug one side of the jumper wire [paperclip], when the SRS light comes back on, plug the jumper back in,(within 4 seconds) the light will blink twice and go out. Unplug the jumper and turn the ignition key off. Wait 15 seconds, then start your car. The memory will be reset. Replace the plug and you're set. this also worked on my 92-95 generation but its kinda hidden on the 96-00 model so here's a pic of which wire it is, If the pic doesn't show, try this link: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...SRSFixture.jpg This was really easy to do on my 95 but I had to try it like 5 times on my 99 civic before i got it to work so don't quit too soon

Hey Guys,
I have a 98 Honda Civic EX and my SRS Light came on a few weeks ago. I checked every thing Battery, Fuse... What it would do is the SRS Light would stay OFF when the car was not in motion and it will come back on as I would hit the gas. Come to find out that my Alternator was bad it is ideally suppose to put out 14 Volts at 30 - 35 amps, but it was putting out 16 Volts at 45 amps. I had my Alternator replaced with a rebuilt one for about $175 and that fixed the problem. So I would suggest that before you go to the dealer and spend over $300 - $400 check the Alternator. I hope this information was helpful. Thanks. |
