MY ZC IS FINALLY RUNNING..and im am pleased as ever.

Finally after 2 weeks of waiting my ZC is running...

We got the SI engine out and the ZC in, in one night but it wouldnt start and my passanger side axel was about to break and it was rusted inside the (dunno what the call it brake thing lol. so i had to get a new fuel injector passanger side axel placment whatever lol spark plugs and wires ect ect...and all for 2 weeks im in love...i dont have the integra ECU for it but today or tomarrow so i havnt flet its full power i dun want to push it without the right ECU. but anyone whos looking into ZC's you will fall in love even though Si motors are way under estimated i think old Si could of barly kept up with a ZC but it still had power ..

i hope to get pics of the engine in soon (all go no show) blah blah

the all mighty d series i was bummed when my a6 was hacked by an anti-christ mechanic. it's no accident i bought another d series.

i'm glad to hear your happy! i know the feeling of pulling the engine, dropping in another, and the satisfaction of it starting...muhaahaahaa...kinda makes you feel like the mad scientist who just had their hybrid "monster" come alive :evillaugh now you need to walk around with your arms up in the air yelling "IT'S ALIIIIVE"

so now that you did a swap, what are ya gonna try next? any other plans?

Well what do you guyz think? Im thinking the whole ZC swap would cost $2800 after complete rebuilding... Adding a highflow intake manifold, RC injectors, Ractive spark plugs, DC header, AEM CAI, Ported and polished head, new belts, skunk 2 cams, adjustable pulleys, and a ZYdyne ecu.... Pfew.... Or I could save up the $4000 for a b16 swap... which would take till next august.. I could probably do the ZC by january with all that... Then the summer Id rebuild the bottom end with new pistons and rods... or just do that during the other rebuild... hmmm? Then I would turbo it out. What do you think I would run in the 1/4 mile with all that? Could I beat the b16as around here that have I/H/E?

I dunno.. I had the ZC and it was nice, but it was no where near the B16.. I've talked to more than a couple guys at the track that were running around the same times as my car with ZCs and nitrous as I was running with a B16 and just an exhaust.

If I prepped the ZC right I bet I could run high 12s low 13s if i wanted to..... but the b16a powered crx at the motorshop runs a 10.6... Its my daily driver and i don't think i need all that power... But hey I don't know

yikes! that is the one reason i went with a '00 EX d16y8. only 12,000 miles. thats a baby when you're talking honda. it would sound funny if you heard a '00 owner say "just hit 12,000 miles....time for a rebuild".

we all could sit here and debate dohc vs. sohc vtec...whatever 2-3 hp difference doesn't mean a thing to me when i'm in it for the long haul.

the y8 cost me $500

Yeah But for the price of a ZC with the LSD and just being dropped in after being totally rebuilt and with a ported and polished head and the other mods I would be making close to 150-160hp then a turbo and i could be up past 200....... The whole operation would cost around $5-5.5k after everything... If I went with the b16a it would be $4k just to swap it in....

Doh! You guys pay WAY too much money for swaps in the states. I payed $3200 for a B16A swapped in my car including the auto to manual conversion.. Thats Canadian $. I payed $1250 Canadian for the motor tranny and ECU.

I don't think that there should even be an argument that the B16 is better than a ZC.. It just has way more aftermarket support. It has so many swappable parts. I think the only thing that should decide what motor you put in your car is how fast do you want to go, and how much money do you want to spend?!

Cheap, fast and reliable... Choose two.

2 - 3 hp difference? Are you comparing that to a b16? I mean its a bit more than that. You got the y8 rite? 127 vs 160. The only thing thats close to it is the torque. I belive your engine should be rated at 108-113 hp to the wheels while the b16 is at 140. Either both are good motors and have good potential.

Are you talkin about LS motors or Crv motors? Well they have more torque than some or most dohc v-tecs!
