Sorry guys...

I got a new ride so the Caprice has to go I'm asking $800 locally and it should pass inspection. I still have to install my new (junkyard) fender & rear bumper, but other than cosmetics it's a great car. I'm sad to have to sell it as it has never given me a minutes trouble in 6000 miles. It currently has 136000 on it and starts right up!

Well, out with the old:

and in with the new!

It's a '96 318i Convertible with 113000 miles. I got it for $5300!!! I love it, but the caprice certainly rides and sounds better. I still love the sound of the 305 w/ a 40 series flowmaster. I'll be sure to check into these forums every so often to see if I help so not all is lost.

I forgot my location doesn't show up in this forum... I'm in Westminster, Maryland - near Gettysburg. It's a 1989 Caprice Brougham. The car has (within the last 10000 miles) new alternator, brakes (rotors & pads), cap & rotor, radiator, A/C, serpentine belt, shocks, cat-back exhaust (mexican Flowmaster - exact 40 series clone), tires, and some other stuff. Before I bought the car a year ago, it sat in a garage for six monthes which was very unfortunate as some seals apparently dried out. It now leaks both oil (minor) and tranny fluid (worse), but I talked to my transmission guy and he said that as long as I kept the fluid topped off, nothing would be hurt. IIRC, it's a blown pump seal or something & the pan seal. He quoted me $200 total to fix it approximatly 8 months ago. It does smoke on start up. Mechanically, it's sound. Cosmetically, it does have problems - the passenger fender is dented badly (being replaced), the hood is dented due to the fender being pushed into it (haven't found a hood yet), the rear bumper is dented (being replaced), the trunk lid is slightly dented (bondo will fix it no problem), the headliner is dead (probably will be replaced using JC Penney headliner material - almost a perfect match), and there are a few small dings in the car from the previous owner. The vinyl top is cracked, but I'm pulling it off so that won't be an issue

The car should pass state inspection if I replace the wiper blades. Emissions as of September 7th 2005 were as follows: Hydrocarbons - 0.0544GPM (1.4000GPM LIMIT), Carbon Monoxide - 0.3022GPM (30.0000GPM LIMIT), Oxides of Nitrogen - 0.0814GPM (2.5000GPM LIMIT), Carbon Dioxide - 42.5917GPM (NO LIMIT).

The wheels in the picture do not form a complete set. Due to the accident that dented the fender, the 4th Rim & Tire were damaged. I have the original wire rims (in my avatar) with brand new tires that I will include with the car.

Better (older - passenger fender, hood, rear bumper now dented. Trunk lid has minor dent) pictures:

Re: Sorry guys...

i just had an 88 100% identical to that one damn

if it was close ot me id have already snagged it up off you

that sucks youre way up there

i would be VERY surprised if it was still not sold

if it was down here it would have been taken within the first day or two

thats odd with the seals leaking after having sat for only 6 months, hell the 78 grand prix i jut got sat untouched for 8 years and it has no leaks i been driving it virtually everyday including today no problem except the master cylinder was dead but that was no biggie, the battery in it was dated 1996 and there was no gas in it, it fired right up no problem, and no smoke or anything either, surprised me

good luck
