rear view mirror

my rear view mirror recently fell off. i was trying to get the button off the mirror but can't seem to do it. there is a little hole but i can't figure out what to do with it. ive tried screw drivers and allen wrenches but can't get the button off. if any one knows how or has some useful insight i would appreciate it. (94 s-10) thanks

Re: rear view mirror

It should just take a allen wrench. Maybe you just did'nt try the right size? Look into the little hole (use a flashlight if you have to) Maybe at one time somebody lost the allen bolt and just glued the button on. When my mirror came off I was able to glue it back to the windsheild without taking the button off. Just make sure you get glue specificly for rear veiw mirrors.
GOODLUCK!
