nothing works! need help!!!

hi,
i know absolutely nothing about cars and my 2001 626 worked fine on my way to work this morning. now i am at work and when i went to leave on my lunch break my car was completely dead. i mean completely dead. nothing works, the lights dont turn on, the horn doesnt work the locks dont work, even the trunk release doesnt work and when i put the key in the ignition theres not even a clicking noise when i try to start it. i tried jumping it and nothing happened. could this just be my main fuse? i tried fiddling around with the wires that connect to my battery but that did nothing. any idea why it would just quit working when it was working fine this morning? im stuck at work with a car that is just a piece of metal at this point and really need help in figuring out what to do next. thanks for the help.

Not to sound like a tool, but are you sure you had the booster cables on correctly? I had the same problem Saturday with my wife's 2000 626. I didn't have the booster cables on right at first.

1) Positive on the host battery
2) Positive on the dead battery
3) Negative on the host battery
4) Negative on the dead car's engine block

For #4, any metal part of the engine block should work. It's a good idea to keep it away from the fuel line.

Sure sounds like a dead battery to me.
