Lightbulb cobalt or tiburon

Well I am torn between two cars. I recently got rid of my 99 grand am, and I am in the market for a fuel efficient coupe. Two cars I have had a lot of interest is the cobalt ls and the hyundai gs 4 cyclinder. Both look cool, but I am used to speed. My grand am had around 185 horses, and the question I am asking is which of the cars is better? Which stock would win, the cobalt with 8 more horses or the tiburon with the good low end torque? please give me some input.

Re: cobalt or tiburon

I would have to say the cobalt would be faster it has 8 more hp, around 20 more pd/ft of torque.

Re: cobalt or tiburon

If you have 20,000 then get the Cobalt SS supercharged.

Re: cobalt or tiburon

Thanx for the input guys, I think I am definitely going with the cobalt. I just took a test drive in the tiburon today and frankly it felt cheap. Also I found out that I get the suppliers discount through gm since I work at best buy. Tomorrow I am going to the dealership to look at some cobalts.

yeah if i were you i would deff go with a cobolt, just the fact that it's a GM car and also if you have the extra money get the Ss model yuo wont b disapointed, there would b so much more power and you get the cool style of it also but even without that there all pretty tight.

Re: cobalt or tiburon

Yeah I really think I am going with the cobalt. I am saving up a lot right now for a down payment. If my payments are low enough I will get the ss. My friend at work has a yellow cobalt ss and that thing is awesome. Some fool came up with a civic si and he blew him away.

Re: cobalt or tiburon

yeah those cars are sickly quick for having such a small engine and pretty much there chevy's way of telling all the over seas car commpanys that were comming for you. Just like in the commercial with the vet and the cobolt, it's like a mini vet and im sure in the next few years chevy will b mking it alot quicker possibly even putting a v8 in it?

Re: cobalt or tiburon

well, answering the original question the tibiron seems like it would be more fuel efficent but the 4cyl ones suck!... and for the colbot... if your looking for the same power as your grand am... hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha thats not comming from a 4cyl gm... I beat one in my 90 ka24 240(all stock)=slow.. lol and the cobolt had an intake... go with the honda insight if your looking for fuel efficent but if you have any taste at all... go with the tibiron v6 model... in my belife thats alot better than the cobolt SS... and supercharged would own it... i really dont think either of these cars are the most fuel effecient tho... lol just my

So what makes the V6 Tiburon a much better car than the SS/SC? The SS/SC will also get 38+ mpg on the highway and 26+ in the city if you can stay off the boost, so bad gas mileage isnt a problem.
