In progress: Full detail Ferrari 330P4

Here is my latest project. My object with this one is to combine parts from Fujimi and Union 330P4 kits and scratchbuild the rest of detail parts, to create a fully detailed Ferrari 330 P4.

Rear subframe is almost completed:

I also started working on the brakes, they are mostly scratchbuilt from sheet styrene and aluminium.

Parts for the front brakes:

When parts are put together they look like this:

And the rear brakes:

Super detail on the brakes

No doubt about it, this thread is going to be the death of me!
Lots of details on the "hows" and "what withs", please!

Hope you are going to do this (reasonably) quickly because the suspense will be awfull to bear

Look superb. But the project is gigantic. And typically with a 95 % risk that you don't finish such a big task. Why don't you acquire the MFH P4 version, where you get a super-detailed kit without doing all this very time consuming scratch work. MFH P4 is not only super-detailed in the rear end like engine and gearbox, but also super-detailed in all other aspects. Remember: If you can't beat them, then join them.

Well, how about the price (240euros)? And missing all the fun doing it my self? And the fact that i started this three years ago, before i had even heard of MFH?

Here are couple of pics of my progress so far:

Engine/transmission is a modified Union item, the rest is scratchbuilt. Headers are solder, most other parts are styrene. I will use this Renaissance "transkit" for the interior:

WOW!

Simply amazing, this is some build you're pulling off here!
I'm confident that you'll get through this one of as well after seeing what you've accomplished before.

Started three years ago - you're just getting warmed up then. You can't rush an ambitious project like this one. Very interesting and impressive so far.

Re: In progress: Full detail Ferrari 330P4

Fujimi shocks are replaced with these scratchbuilt items (they still need cleaning and painting):

Most of the stuff that goes under the front end is ready:

Renaissance oil cooler is actually almost 70 PE pieces held together by couple of wires:

The engine compartment still needs few oil tanks, water surge tank, rest of the exhaust system and spare wheel:

Re: In progress: Full detail Ferrari 330P4

Looks good so far!

I'll be following this one with interest for inspiration on my Fujimi/Union kit-bash.

Any reason for not using the Union's shocks and metal coils?

Attachment points of Union shocks are way out of scale.

Re: In progress: Full detail Ferrari 330P4

After a "short" break with couple of easier projects i'm back with this one. Some painting and work with interior done:

Interior bulkheads are from Renaissance Detail set as is the seat. Seatbelts come from Acustion set.
