Re: Amemiya RX7

Hi guys, thks for looking at my work in progress & all your supports.

Reli fall in lov with this car after viewing hot version video in which the amemiya RX7 competed against 'Luck' rally tuned WRX in a touge battle. Used to be a skyline fan. But after viewing, this RX7 reli blow off my mind!

Hopefully can do my best to make this model to be half as good as HIROBOY & all the other expert. I would reli appreciated if all of you would give your precious comments on how I could improved on it. Thks.

Sorry abt the long story. Anyway, here are some progress pics.

Have primed the body & done up the headlights. Realise that the surface, especially at area which are puttied and sanded are not as smooth as expected. Area are filled with pit holes. How am I going to make it as smooth as the rest of the body? being using tamiya basic putty as the top coat.

Another pic

Here is the modified hoods. Just added a inlet vent using 0.3mm sheet.

Here is the car interior. Will changed the back compartment.

I will try my best to post update every week. Will be a slow progress.

more progress

hi everyone, return with some more progress.

have sand the headlight section & redone the air inlet area(should look more proportional now) hood section is almost done up, less for a bit of sanding touch-up.

have redone the end section of the side body kit. Rims & brake are from toyota corolla WRC. Wanted to get the RP-F1 rims, but have heard that the rims look like 16 inch instead of the 17 inch.

This is the pic i based my model on. What color is body color. Which tamiya color comes closest to the body color? TS-10 French Blue; TS-23 Light Blue; TS-54 Light Metallic Blue?

Re: Amemiya RX7

Nice work. The putty work is coming a long well, so far. I'd go with light blue, I think French blue is a little too rich for that car.

Re: Amemiya RX7

I'd agree with the ts-23 light blue... the paint doesn't look metallic in that pic, and french blue would be rich.

Thanks guys, have been pondering for quite some times over what color will resemble the one in the pic. Here are some more pics of the 330.9PS touge monster.
