series 2 or series 3 HELP

well this weekend when i was driving home i noticed my bottom end didnt feel right when i was driving, but considering that it was 2am and plenty of booze on my breath i decided to baby it home. i rolled up the driveway, popped the hood and my engine had a considerable fire going. uh oh. i was gonna let the mofo burn and collect insurance but their is too much sentimental value in that car. i had it looked at and the motor is cashed. f#ck it. i love the car so i got a question. i just so happen have enough cash to buy a new and comlete crate motor from gm. sooooooo. can i drop that new series 3 260hp motor in my 2000 gtp??? it would fit wouldnt it??? do i have to go buy a new computer too. whats the procedure for dumpin a series 3 motor in a series 2 motor car?? what else do i need for it? p.s. GO WHITE SOX

Re: series 2 or series 3 HELP

You are better off staying with the Series II.

You will probably have issues getting a SIII to bolt in, let alone having to get a new PCM and other parts.

Like has been said many many many times when someone wants to drop a different engine in there: It can be done, but it depends on what you want to spend to do it.

well i called a couple of dealerships and one guy told me i should put the s11 in but he sounded like a jag plus it was a buick dealership. put the pontiac guy sounded much more knowledgeable and he told me that the s11 and the s111 are very compatible and it should go right in, as far as the pcm goes thrasher will take care of that. but IDK? im gonna get it and if i cant make it work then its gone. ill go buy a damn truck or somethin
