Re: RENAISSANCE ASTON DBR9 done.

Fantastic, I’m so envious that you have both the skill to build this kit, and that you can afford to add it to your collection…

Can’t help but think the green is a little too light, perhaps it’s me but I thought the DB9 has a slightly darker green for its livery.

Might just be the lighting. Anyhow, sweet build. How was it, must have been a challenge. I REALLY wanted to buy one, but that price tag just totally put me off. Such a stunning race car, based on my all time (at the moment) favourite sports car…

Re: RENAISSANCE ASTON DBR9 done.

Hi Emmanuel,

your building skills seem to be at a very high level to build this model. Like mickbench I think, colour tends too much towards light green and appears a little bit dull. Can you write some sentences about what you corrected at the model?

Concerning the from you mentioned Spark model here some pics:

Just as you wrote, Emmanuel, the price of the Rennaissance kit and the Spark model are the same (depending where you buy), and for me Spark capture the shape of the car in a better way. Thinking of the countless hours of making a correct model out of the kit I decided to get the Spark. I don´t possess the kit anymore.

Re: RENAISSANCE ASTON DBR9 done.

@sportsracer 02

I also like the Spark Aston DBR9 more then the Renaissance,the Front is made better than on the Rennaissance Kit.
Also the wheels looks more the same like the original car.

@Manu

Great Job on this Kit,i saw the parts of the Kit and now how much work is to do.

Re: RENAISSANCE ASTON DBR9 done.

thanks micha.
The spark model looks great.
The color was a bit of a story, it's very light, a bit of blue , green on some pics the kind of color you can discuss about during a lot of time. I chose to do mine in a TS42 coat first and while this was still wet, added some metallic green.Of course when this was done, renainsane announced a color for it in a spray can....whatever.

I'll add some pics of the inside of the kit. Some few work inside wires and stuff. The door can be done opened but.....still some work for a curbside and opening a door means a solid job on a renaissance kit. someone did it on mautomobile. Opening door , very nice......Had to repair the back of my car , broken in the box. It's the problem with the renaissance kits...You buy a ST27 , you're like "yeah cool". You open a renaissance kit it's " uh...shit...." Kinda....different the way they're presented....

Some work of adjustement here and there, carbon everywhere, etc....
the shape is a bit wrong to me the rear window and the back, too square I think.Also , don't forget that the two "bulbs" on the front side denature the car a bit compared to the spark model , which is the presentation model.
I love the spark model it's gorgeous..let's say a carbon effect would have been great to be picky but wow....nice....
Here are some pics of the process.
thanks
Manu ( so rare someone call me my entire name !!! )

Re: RENAISSANCE ASTON DBR9 done.

speaking about the<wheels, the one from the murciealgo transkit are one of the most beautiful i'have seen. If I had an extra of those, I wouls have put them on the DBR9

Re: RENAISSANCE ASTON DBR9 done.

Thanks for your info and the pics, Manu (my wife is called Manuela, I call her Manu )

You really did a great job on the interior, too, nice work on the CF-decals. What are these air hoses made of? Do they come in the kit?

Concering the colour I know, that the original colour is made ONLY for this Race Aston Martin. Nearly impossible to mix it and if you buy "the exact colour for this model" and it is not from the company making the colour for the 1:1 car, it is just not right

Your impression about opening a model box from Japan and France makes my laugh, but very often is true

Go on like this, I like your style
