Re: wont start no spark.

Can you turn the distributor rotor by hand? Shouldn't be able to - Here's a long shot thing that happened to me, TTfox. I went around a corner right after having it smogged, and i heard a "snap" sound from engine somewhere, and the engine died. So it cranks, but no start-no spark.
So i checked everything in the book and then i removed the dist cap. And noticed the rotor spun freely! So it turned out that the oil pump shaft was broken (since it also turns the distributor).
What caused the shaft to break? I determined the dist. hold down bolts were stripped, so the distributor could wobble just enough to break the shaft. I know for certain the threaded holes were fine before i brought it to the smog station. So it was done by the neanderthals at the smog place! I dont know why they did this, they refused to adjust anything in the first place even so i could passthe #@$%&*!!! smog test and i had to come back 3 times!
Anyway, see if you can turn your rotor by hand, if you can do it you have the same problem, so change the shaft.

And in the unlikely event that this turns out to be your problem, PM me or just reply this message and i will give you more info on doing this fairly easy job.
