SPYDER For Sale - 95 3000gt SL

It is a sad day for me but I need to sell my very loved '95 3000GT SL Spyder. For those of you not familiar, these are hard top convertibles. Only approximately 750 of these were made so it is a collector's item. We have a new baby and bought a forclosure property that needs much more work than we thought. So we need the money. It is a third vehicle and garage kept.

I am the 2nd owner. I was not sure if they did ALL of the 60K maintenance so I did it at 92,000. EVERYTHING. I have also had the tranny rebuilt and installed a K&N firepack. The car has a few very minor scratches but looks great. I also had the computer for the top replaced ($4000) and the bushings replaced so the top is now like new.

The Spyders only come in the SL (auto) or the VR4 (manual) options. The VR4 Spyders go for over $30,000. I had planned on finding a good manual tranny and linkage and changing it out. Whereas upgrading a standard 3000 does not make sense, the spyders do since the price is double.

None of what you said here is true.

Sl's came in manual and auto
VR4's came only in manual, just like every VR4 made.

The difference between the SL and VR4 is a lot bigger than a different manual transmission. VR4's are AWD, AWS, 6 speed instead of 5(if manual in the SL), Twin turbos, different engines....the list goes on.

That is why there is a huge price difference.

Unfortuantely this is incorrect information. While it may be true of regular 3000's - We are talking about a spyder - convertible. For more information on this particular type of 3000 please see http://www.3000gtspyder.com/ which has all of the specifics of the vehicles.

According to the mitsubishi literature: A total of 1,618 Spyders were ever produced. 741 were the non-turbo SL model and 877 were the twin-turbo VR4.

will show you that ALL of the SL spyders were auto. NONE of them EVER came in manual. The ones that show up as manual have been swapped out by owners. This website even provides detailed information on how to do the swap yourself if you are interested - so it can and has been done.

I know these cars VERY well. I was specifically responding to the user about the tranny. NOT the other differneces in the cars. You although have been incorrect in stating that SL's can come with manual trannys when I specifically was speaking of the Spyders. An SL Spyder only came in auto.

That all being said this is a post for selling a car so what benefit is your post here. Go post on the technical forum. So they can tell you you are wrong too.
