02 monte carlo electronics gone wild

I have a 2002 MC LS with 35000 miles on it, the battery went dead and I replaced it, when I went to start it, it would not start, then it locked the radio and then the DIC started to flash traction control service, service engine soon, low brake fluid, low washer fluid. I shut the key off and tried it again and it finally started but the radio is still locked and the ac compressor will not engage, and it flashes, security, battery, service engine soon. I hooked up my snapon mt2500 and pull two codes a U1064 loss of BCM,VTD,DIM,PZM, and or SBM Data, and a P1626 theft sys fuel enable signal lost,
I replaced the ignition switch thinking that may be the problem but that did not help. I live 200 miles from the nearest chevy dealership with certified tech, I call one that is 100 miles from us and they told me I would have to take it to some one with a tech two scanner, theirs was not working.
Can some one help me, I am a mechanic and understand electronics.
Thanks David Lewis

Re: 02 monte carlo electronics gone wild

I have a 2001 SS and had the same problem yesterday. The engine started fine, but the gauges went wild. The A/C compressor would not engage. After driving for about 20 miles, everything started working fine. Once I stopped, the keyless entry would not work. I disconnected the battery for about 10 mins this morning and that got the keyless entry working. This has been going on for a couple of weeks. I disconnect the battery about every 2 days to get the keyless entry working.

Do a key re-learn. Turn the key to on, and leave it set for 10 min. Then turn the key off, and try to start it. This should get the car running again after you do a few drive cycles to allow the ECM to re-calibrate itself. As far as the radio, if you don't have (or don't remember) the theft-lock code, you'll have to pay the dealer to get it working again.

Im tracking this down too, but I may have found it. could be dirty 60 amp fuses in the main electrical block under the hood. To illistrate my point at 40 amps it only takes 0.05 ohms to create a voltage drop of 2 volts

I'm not sure if it's still true with new MC's but my 95 doesn't have a specific computer relearn process you simply have to drive it out. I'm pretty sure it's somewhere between 20 and 25mi. So take her out for a cruise and see if the problems solve themselves.

Just so you two know this thread is almost a year old. The person who had the problem prob is not even still active. If you would start a new thread with your info or questions that would be great. Should get more traffic that way aswell.
Welcome to the forums.
