Re: 2005 silverado 400 ss

THe 6.0 L is 364 cid. So is it a 400 cid or a 364 cid/6.0 L? The LQ9 is the 345hp 6.0 L engine. I did not think they made a 400 cid anymore?????

The motors in mexico are different. There aren't the same ones here in the U.S.

I sure hope you didn't buy that thing site unseen. I've NEVER seen a decent vehicle come outta Mexico.

Re: 2005 silverado 400 ss

Why is it called a 400ss if it's a 5.3? The 5.3 is 325cid, it has a totally different bore and stroke from the old 327. Are you sure about the torque, I have a 5.3 with 310 hp and it's listed at 335lb-ft?

440lbs = NO WAY . It's just a appearance package. You can get the same amount of power from bolt ons as any other 5.3L equipped truck. Think of it as another appearance package such as the southern comfort or choo choo customs trucks of the day.

Re: 2005 silverado 400 ss

According to the GM website, the engine in the 400ss is the 5.3 285hp 335lb-tq. They don't list the 310hp engine as an option.
