Safc Ii

hey guys sorry im kinda out of my zone with this one but most of the talons in the talon section are turbos and dont really know to much about SAFC II. I was just wondering if this would be a good product to put in my talon n/t, or am i better off sendind my ecu to someone like jet performance?

The Apexi Super AFC II is great...don't send your PCM to Jet, they don't do anything but take your money!!!

Just curious, why are you posting in the neon forum?

Re: Safc Ii

IMO, I wouldnt ever get something that I cant retune. Things like a JET chip and whatnot cant be adjusted. All you are buying is a set of different maps which may or may not be optimal for your application or mods. I know there are plenty of adjustable piggy backs, but that is a reason why I DO like the SAFCII. I can tune my car on the fly and future mods dont matter because I can get the best tune with what I have at any moment.

Jet doesn't make a chip for the neon.

Re: Safc Ii

Jets part number is 68004 i usually sell them for about 255 canadian , they arent a *chip* but a module since there is no removable chip in the computer they are an add on , and they do increase performance.

Jet does nothing for the neon...NOTHING! Waste your money if you like...

Re: Safc Ii

My friend has the same module in his Escort and it shaved 1.25 secs of his 0-60 times , dont know where you got your info from Das but having read this board for the last couple days straight looking for other information. Id say maybe you should go check your battery again since its always your solution to everything and dont talk about things you dont know about. Unless you have bought one yourself and installed it ?

Re: Safc Ii

you dont need to send your ecu away , you can buy a * chip * for your car , it doesnt plug in like the newer vehicles , but you do hard wire it in , its about a 30 min job if you go slowly and it does improve response time in your throttle

Re: Safc Ii

how did you verify the 1.25 seconds off the 0-60 times. that seems like a SIGNIFICANT improvement, i mean BIG TIME SIGNIFICANT!!! i am really blown away at that one. that means that it picked up more than 1.5 seconds in the 1/4 if not even 2.0 seconds. a turbo/supercharger on low boost will barely do that...and they add 100hp. i dont see how its physically possiable to gain that much power on a N/A vehicle without extensive modification or nitrous

Yeah, but what do we know TEX? Maybe a $30 mod can help that much and we've been wasting our time and money on boost!!!

Re: Safc Ii

i know, right!!! why spend $2000 on a turbo setup...or heck, i just blew $2000 on my standalone AEM EMS computer, when i could have purchased this $150 computer chip, that is obviously better. i mean comeon, what good does it do you to have full and complete control of your engine when JET has their chips made in china.

i am a jet dealer, and let me tell you somthing. in teh past 4 years i have sold more than a dozen of their products (not many at all...and here is why), and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them came back!!! i would not sell JET to anyone, even if you begged me. i would tell you no, and force you to buy it from one of my other sales guys...but what do i know...its not like i have built 1000+hp corvettes and porshe's, or the several le mans race cars i have been apart of, or the touring car team i work with, or the hundreds of street cars i have worked on (including several magazine cars), etc
