Re: 2001 grand am wont crank
Its possible that it could be your timing chain if its not turning over.

Re: 2001 grand am wont crank
it is turning over very well. i replaced the coolant temperature sensor after that the first time i tried it still would not crank. after a few shouts and a few flying wrenches i calmed down and tried again that time it cranked so i am not sure if i have fixed the problem or not?

Re: 2001 grand am wont crank
i have a 99 grand am gt mine does this every now and then. sounds like the engine is not getting gas when u try 2 crank it.seems like the gas is n a vapor lock or air pocket in the fuel line not sure. but what i do is wait a few minutes hold the gas pedal to the floor for a few seconds try to crank it listen for the engine to act like it wants to crank if sounds like it wants to crank dont let your foot off the gas and keep the engine turning with the ignition. if it dontcrank up wait another min or 2 do it again. some times it takes 10 to 15 min to crank. ps dont kill your battery use your judgement.
like i said mine does this every now and then dont know why, never talked about it to a mechanic.
