1991 chevy caprice

I am going to b getting a 91 Caprice and wanted to know what would b a good thing to do to mk it run alittle better, since i have never actually been able to own one of these.

Also i wanted to know roughly how fast they r , and since it's a 91 i think it has a 305 so hopfully that's a good engine.

And, what is the hp/trq rated at and if there is any mods that i should consider when i start to work on it.

THanks

Re: 1991 chevy caprice

The 305 is a mouse motor compared the LO5 350 TBI. I own a 9C1 '91 caprice with a 350 and hit 150 easily on a certified digital speedo. I imagine an LT1 and a six speed would be a mighty fast sled..

Re: 1991 chevy caprice

Impala SS - Caprice with LT1 and another differential have 160 mph speed limiter. My 305 Caprice runs above 120 mph and I think it could run 5 - 10 another mph more. In high speeds it is highly unstable, I dont recommand runing so fast.
