Will my alternator be able to handle this?

I'm putting a new Power Acoustik OV2-1200 Gothic Series 1200 Watt 2-Channel Amplifier in my car. My T-Bird has a 65 amp alternator. Will it be able to handle this amp? And what do you think the amp's ACTUAL wattage is? Thanks for the help!

Re: Will my alternator be able to handle this?

my civic has a 70A alt, handles my amp just fine.
Power Acoustik overrartes their output, from what i hear. 1200 is probably ur max output, ne way.

Do you have the same amp as me or just the same wattage?

try it and see, you really have nothing to lose - if it can't you will end up replacing it anyway
